Chief Larry Hesser
Chief Larry M. Hesser has 39 years of public service in law enforcement serving 29 of those years as a chief of police. Chief Hesser is the former police chief of communities in Georgia, Colorado, North Carolina, and Texas. Chief Hesser is a graduate of the FBI NA 112th Session, FBI LEEDS, PERF SMIP and Farr Associations Leadership Development.
Chief Hesser also attended the Faculty Development Workshop at the Behavioral Sciences and Leadership Department at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.
Chief Hesser is a former President of the North Carolina Association of Police Chiefs. Chief Hesser is a Life Member of the IACP and has served on numerous committees of the IACP including advisor to the Smaller Police Department Technical Assistance Program.
Chief Hesser is a co-author of the IACP’s Leadership in Police Organization course. Larry is a trainer of the Leadership in Police Organizations course for the Center for Police Leadership.
Chief Hesser holds a bachelor of arts in criminal justice with work on a master in communications with emphasis on leadership.
