Chaplain William Randall
Rick Randall is the founding pastor of Austin Cornerstone Church. Prior to planting the church in Austin, Texas in the fall of 1994 Rick ministered as the Associate Pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas where he served in various capacities for 19 years.
Since coming to Austin, Rick has been actively involved in community reconciliation. He co-founded the Austin Pastor’s Prayer Fellowship and was one of the authors of the Pastor’s Covenant for Racial Reconciliation, which over 300 Austin area pastors signed in 1996. Rick also served on the Mayor’s Pastoral Advisory Committee for Racial Reconciliation.
In addition to his pastoral duties with his church, Rick currently
serves as the Senior Chaplain for the Austin Police Department. He coordinates the program which includes 22 volunteer clergy from area congregations. Rick also handles chaplain duties for the executive staff and professional standards divisions of the Department. Rick has served APD as a facilitrainer in the Department’s Racial Profiling Training Program and teaches classes in the Department’s Leadership Academy as well as such courses as stress management, performance and accountability, cultural diversity, community policing and ethics. He also acts as an advisor to the Department on employee health and safety issues.
Rick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and a
Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of
Texas at San Antonio, as well as a Master’s Degree in Biblical Theology from Abilene Christian University.
